Electronic Signatures

Electronic Signatures are making their way into the business processes of organizations across any industry. Nobody denies the costs and inefficiencies born out of slow paper-based business processes, and that is where today’s electronic signature solutions such as eOriginal SmartSign® can make an impact. Let’s face it, most of your documents are generated in electronic form, probably in Adobe PDF. Why force your customers and partners to print those documents just to capture a signature?

SmartSign Web is an extension of the eOriginal SmartSign server-based signature capture software. SmartSign Web enables customers to prepare print-oriented Adobe PDF files for electronic signature, using pre-defined signature templates or designing on-the-fly templates. Once prepared, the user defines the order of presentation of documents, identifies signers and reviewers, and sends email invitations to the participants of the transaction. The application provides a setup application for coordinating the entire process, tracking status of transactions in process, and allows updates to existing transactions in the workflow. The setup application also enables customers to brand the signing room, with no programming required!

The signing room provides multiple modes of deployment, integrated within the customer website or portal and through a hosted, branded eOriginal website. The hosted website, or signature service, provides the ability to have a zero-integration deployment to enable customers to begin utilizing SmartSign immediately. Once in the signing room, participants of the transaction are required to consent to the electronic signature process, review documents within the transaction, generate and apply their electronic signatures, and retrieve a copy of their signed documents. The signature service also provides user authentication services using email and customer-defined security code. Additional user screening, OFAC lookup and out of wallet Q&A, can also be required for the participants on any transaction.

Signed documents are automatically deposited in the secure repository, or electronic vault, where they are tamper-sealed with a digital certificate, as are the events in the documents audit trail. eOriginal customers access signed documents using the eCore® Command Center access and management application.
